Privacy policy
In short: Cloverby does not collect personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. Your game stays on your device.
Who is responsible
The controller for the app Cloverby and the website cloverby.com is Ayrton Van Ouytsel (Beuzze), Belgium. For any question about privacy or your data, write to [email protected].
The app
- No account. You don't sign up or log in to play.
- No analytics or tracking. The app does not measure how you play, does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across apps or websites.
- No ads. Cloverby contains no advertising.
- Your game data stays on your device. Worlds, roads and settings are stored locally on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. We never receive them.
- PlannediCloud sync. This is not available yet. If it is added and you enable iCloud sync, your game data is stored in your own iCloud account, which we cannot access. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud.
On the App Store, Cloverby is listed as Data Not Collected.
In-app purchases
Purchases inside the app are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment details or Apple Account. Apple's privacy policy applies to those purchases.
Test versions via TestFlight
If you test a pre-release version of Cloverby through Apple's TestFlight, Apple shares with us:
- your name and email address, if we invited you (through a public link, only what you share yourself);
- the feedback you send: screenshots, your comment, and details about your device such as model, iOS version, language and battery level;
- crash reports, if you choose to share them;
- whether and when you installed and opened a build.
We use this only to improve the app and to invite you to new test versions. We keep it for as long as the test runs; Apple also keeps it under its own rules. You can stop testing at any time in the TestFlight app, or ask us to delete your data at [email protected]. We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in testing the app (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Apple's privacy policy also applies to TestFlight.
The app itself does not change: a test version collects no data either and sends nothing to us.
This website
- The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
- It loads nothing from third parties: fonts, images and styles are all served from cloverby.com itself.
- The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver the pages and protect the site against abuse, Cloudflare may process technical data such as your IP address in its logs. We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
When you email us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you, and we don't keep it longer than needed for that.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because Cloverby does not collect personal data, there is usually nothing for us to hand over or delete, unless you test through TestFlight (see above). You can always contact us at [email protected].
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Belgium this is the Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
Children
Cloverby is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children either.
Changes
If this policy changes, for example when iCloud sync becomes available, we will update this page and the date at the top.
